Hey there! Welcome to Dulcis and my first blog! I’ve got to be honest. I’ve never really blogged and the big wide internet is a little intimidating to me. But with this new journey comes finding my strengths and weaknesses and turning those weaknesses into strengths… Gladiator status!
To tell you a little bit about me, my name is Sarah. I am a single mom to an awesome 9 year old boy, Orion. I'm an assistant manager & barista at a local coffee shop in Austin, TX. I love trees & being in nature. I have an incredibly loving companion, named Juno, who comes in the most beautiful canine form, & I'm most happy when I am making food, or coffee, for family & friends.
I started my own personal journey to health & wellness 5 years ago when I began dealing with some health issues that were keeping me from enjoying life and keeping up with my son. So I went on a mission to start finding ways to heal my body the most natural way I could... through food. About 2 years ago I began a program called the Whole30, which cuts out dairy, sugar, grains, legumes, gluten & alcohol from your diet for 30 days. One of the things I love about the Whole30 is that it gets you to think outside of the box and get creative in the kitchen... something I love doing! It challenges you to come up with new recipes to try so that you don’t gas-out and quit. My family is one that loves milk and since dairy is out and most alternative milks in the grocery store are filled with preservatives and thickeners, I wasn't able to buy them. So I was challenged to get creative and figure out my own alternative. & from here, Dulcis was born!
My intention with Dulcis is to lend a helping hand in making the journey for health & wellness a bit easier for you & my community. I value the community I live in and want nothing more than to see you succeed along your own journey. All of my milks are 100% organic, GMO free, & sweetened only with dates. My promise to you is this... If I won't feed it to my family, I won't feed it to you. I will always keep your best interest at heart and provide the most natural and authentic product for you!
Thank you for starting your journey with me. Please feel free to reach out and connect. I look forward to building more community & supporting one another! So CHEERS to health!!! & Cheers to new beginnings!
I want to thank my sweet friend, Chelsea, who is an amazing photographer here in Austin, TX. Chelsea has been kind enough to support me along this new adventure & helped create some amazing images to bring this website some life & beauty. I would also like to thank a kind friend, Stu Smith, who helped me create the logo for Dulcis. & also to Dave Jasmon, a very talented friend who helped make sure I had the best content for the website. You've got a unicorn status to be reckoned with, my friend! I'm so grateful to all of you for helping turn my visions into a reality. & To all of my closest friends and those who have supported and cheered me on through the past few months, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Cheers!
